The Gascoigne Cup is one of three short ocean races on the summer program of the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron. The historic event has been on Sydney’s yachting calendar for 127 years. The race counts towards the Perseverance Trophy for RSYS yachts and is also part of the CYCA’s Grant Thornton Short Ocean Pointscore – ensuring a big racing fleet. The Cup is awarded to the PHS winner. This year’s winner is the J122 Jackpot, now campaigned by Adrian and Maree Van Bellen. Jackpot is equipped with the original full wardrobe of Ian Short Sails supplied over six years ago. The Farr First 40 Brannew, also fully equipped with Ian Short Sails, took IRC honours and third place on PHS – making it a double victory for Ian Short Sails.
Currently, Ian Short Sails are developing a new set of Carbon GraphX sails in preparation for the CYCA’s 2014 Land Rover Winter Series and the 2014 Land Rover Sydney Gold Coast Race.
